{As you are now, so once was I, Till Providence began to play my hand. As I was back then, so shall you be the same, If you think yourself a Rake and a Ramblin Blade.}
¶ Of A Truth: It’s ramping up and it’s winding down. The final collision of good & evil is upon us. Don’t wait to make your decision while the coin is in the air. Don’t go “flipping coins” for your soul; It’s a “Heads I Win, Tails You Lose” Scenario. You will not win the toss. That Badland Magician is a tricky son of a gun. “YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN.” {John 3:16} This ain’t no “Dress-Up-Sunday-Go-To-Meetin’ Charade!” ‘Tis for sure a far Deeper Fetch!
Painting by Dirk A. Walker
¶ It has been said that “One picture is worth a thousand words” but the flip side of that coin is that ©”The Word of God can paint ten thousand pictures upon the canvass of a heart” and so I ask, as I always do, for divine intervention as I search the libraries of heaven for a vocabulary that would paint upon the hearts of men the Might, the Power, the Majesty, Splendor and Overwhelming Goodness of my Lord, Our Returning King, and as always, I come up short, and so I ask for insight into the Wonders of the Age to Come that I might impress upon the heart of the skeptic the Love, the Goodness, and the Wonders of the Kingdom of God, still at times I struggle and so I forever return to search God’s ultimate Library, the Scriptures, for they were written by Him, that I might come across a Word or two that would touch a heart or two of the ones I left behind and those like them that I’ve not yet met. You know, the deceivers, believers, and old inbetweeners, the gypsies, the rounders, the Road Scholars, and highwaymen who, like us, yet in their own way, refused to be lorded over by the Badland Barons. However, instead of stepping through the veil (the Cross) up onto that most beautiful road that runs up through the Gates of the Kingdom of God, they chose instead to lite out on their own; out past the point of no return they go across the high-places of the Badlands on that serpentine switchback that, sooner or later, drops off into the Valley of the Shadow Death where they find themselves in the clutches of the very thing they did everything in their power to avoid. An old acquaintance of mine once said, “Freedom ain’t worth nothin’, but it’s free.” Truly, “That kind of freedom is fine – till you reach the end-a-the line.” ©wc …and find yourself facing the very thing you spent your whole life avoiding, the Last Flip of the Coin, “Heads, I win, Tails, you Lose”! Tricky! That Badland Magician is a tricky son of a gun!
